The Christmas season was full of activities, many of them musical and all of them involving food. Residents involved in the St. Augustine Ensemble performed a Christmas concert, presenting song, piano, flute, and rhythm instruments masterfully played. We had visiting carolers from St. Pius X, Sycamore School, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts – to name just a few – and musical entertainment at the St. Augustine Guild Christmas party for Residents. Santa Claus appeared twice, and everyone received gifts on a number of occasions.
Every part of the Home was decorated with greenery, colorful lights, and Nativities both small and large. The Nativity in the chapel was surrounded with a blanket of donated poinsettias and the Holy Family glowed in warm lights. Residents also shared special meals and special moments as family members joined them or they “traversed afar” to grandchildren’s or friends’ homes. All in all, a happy and holy Christmas.
